Destination Covered : Chennai - Kanchipuram - Mahabalipurami - Mysore - Sravanbelgola -Halebid

Day 01: Chennai - Kanchipuram - Mahabalipuram (160 km drive)

You can start exploring Tamil Nadu from Chennai (formerly known as Madras), which owes its origins to the British Empire, which established a fort-Fort St.George-and trading post here in the 17th century. Chennai is today the fourth largest city in the country.

Later you can proceed towards, Kanchipuram - one of India's seven sacred cities, known for temple towns and handloom silks.

Here you can also visit, Vaikuntaperumal, Ekambareshwara, Kamakshiamma, Kailasnathar, and Sakiswarar Temples Later on, visit Mahabalipuram known for its Pallava Art and its beautiful long beach, visit Cave Temples, Rathas Arjuna's Penace and Shore Temples. Night halt at Mahabalipuram.

Day 02: Mahabalipuram - Gangaikondacholapuram - Thanjavur (300 km drive)
Drive to Gangaikondacholapuram, after breakfast. The temple is located at the center of the Gangaikondacholapuram city and occupies around 6 acres of land. There are two Praharams surrounding the Srivimana, most of the wall is destructed and the Granite rocks where used to construct the Lower Anicut during the British rule Archeological Survey of India has renovated the Srivimana and painted it beautifully after the chemical cleaning.

Drive towards Tanjore, (Thanjavur) which was the ancient capital of Chola kings. You can thereafter visit the Brihadeshwara temple, which was built by Raja and is termed as the crowning glory of Chola temple architecture - one of the monuments in India with World Heritage listing. Night halt at Thanjavur.

Day 03: Thanjavur - Madurai (160 km drive)

Travel by road to Madurai. At noon visit Meenakshi Temple and Tirumalai Nayak Palace and Vandiyur Mariamman Teepakulam where annual float festival takes place. Night halt at Madurai.

Day 04: Madurai - Trichy (130 km drive)
Travel by road to Trichy. You can relax for sometime, and proceed for sightseeing around Trichy, which houses a famous landmark - the Rock Fort Temple, a spectacular monument perched on a massive rocky outcrop, which rises abruptly from the plain to tower over the old city.

It is reached by a flight of steep steps cut into the rock and from its summit you get a fantastic view of the town plus its other main landmark, the Sri Ranganathanswami Temple, which is , built on an island in the middle of the Cauvery River and covering a staggering 2.5 sq km and Jambukeshwara Temples. Later in the evening you can stroll around the city and its markets.

Day 05: Trichi - Mysore (340 km drive)
Travel by road to Mysore, after breakfast. Mysore is well known for - sandalwood carvings, silk and incense production, It is the erstwhile capital of the Wadiyar Rajas, is one of South India's most -visited places. Later visit the Maharaja's Palace. Night halt at Mysore.

Day 06: Mysore

Full day sightseeing of Mysore and Srirangapatna, after breakfast .If Mysore bears the stamp of Wodeyars, Srirangapatana is a tribute to the bravery and aesthetics of the father - son duo, Haider Ali and Tipu Sultan.

The picturesque Wellesley Bridge leads you into Tipu Sultan's Fort that encloses Srirangapatna. After sometime you can visit the Brindavan Gardens. Night halt at Mysore.

Day 07: Mysore - Sravanbelgola - Belur - Halebid (150 km drive)
Leave for Hassan, after breakfast. Later, after relaxing for a while, drive to Halebid. In Halebid you can walk around the temples, admire the carvings, and breathe deeply. The main attraction is the Hoysaleswara Temple, which actually comprises two temples joined by a single platform. The second temple is the Shantaleswara Temple. The taken for these temples is around 100 years and are still not ready. Night halt at Hassan.

Day 08: Halebid - Hampi (320 km drive)
Travel to Hampi, after breakfast. Enroute visit Aihole; a picturesque village perched on the pristine banks of the River Malaprabha. This village is dotted with countless temples of aesthetic and spiritual values

Note: Continue travel towards Hampi and relax for the remaining day and night at Hampi.

Day 09: Hampi

Proceed for sightseeing tour of ancient capitol of Vijayanagara Empire, largest empire in post-mogul India, stretched over at least three states - Karnataka, Maharashtra, and Andhra Pradesh, after breakfast. You can there on visit the world heritage site of the 14th century ruins, enjoy the horse carts ride,

Night halt at Hampi

Day 10: Hampi - Belgaum (230 km drive)
Head towards Belgaum airport, for further journey
